Edmonton, AB, June 23rd – 2023
Canadian Parents for French Alberta (CPF) and the Alberta French Language Education Consortium (AFLEC) are pleased to announce that Caetano Magalhaes has received the FI/FSL Professional of the Year award for his engaging spirit.
Caetano Magalhaes is a custodian at École J H Picard within Edmonton Catholic School Division. He is dedicated to creating a meaningful French environment for the students. Not only is he loved in his school for his work ethic, but his kindness. “Mr. Caetano is the person who makes J.H.Picard feel like more than a school – he makes it feel warm and homey and less institutional. Mr. Caetano cares for the kids at J.H.Picard, who know and feel it, ” states Monica Grove when asked how Caetano Magalhaes motivates the students at J H Picard.
He takes pride in his work and the opportunity to brighten a student’s day. He’s constantly engaging with the students, chatting, trying to make their day more enjoyable and sets the example for the students and everyone who has stepped foot in J H Picard. Caetano’s smile and positive energy reinvigorates everyone who enters the school. He is one of the leading French role models in his community and always goes above and beyond in his job to consistently improve the school. Former students continue to fondly remember his kindness and smile.
As CPF and the AFLEC award Caetano Magalhaes, he is thanked for his warmth and effort as he uplifts his community. Congratulations, Caetano!
