French Family Fun Weekends

CPF Alberta hosts three French Family Weekends during the year.

These weekends bring together families with children and youth in French immersion to have a fun filled weekend with activities held in French for the youth and parent only sessions & activities held in English.

Who should attend?  Families of French-Second-Language, French Immersion and Francophone students.

  • The family weekend is for current CPF members. Please join or renew your membership.The membership fee per family is $25 per year . You can register HERE to become a member! Your CPF ID number will be confirmed when you register.

 We offer opportunities for students 12-18 years of age to be Monitors in training/Monitors or babysitters. Some weekends, like in Jasper, Monitor-in-training courses are offered. . See a past example of the Monitor and Monitor-in-Training opportunity HERE.

What will take place?  A fun-filled family weekend full of French and bilingual activities for French and non-French speakers.

Where will everything take place?  We have a different location for each of the three events, here in Alberta.

Why should you go?  This is an opportunity for your child(ren) to use and  practice  French outside of school

These events will include:

  • 2 nights accommodation
  • Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday*
  • Saturday morning parents session*
  • Dinner & Entertainment on Saturday evening*
  • Sociocultural programming for students K-12*
  • Sunday morning family activity*
  • All taxes and gratuities

This family weekend takes place every year in October in beautiful Canmore, Alberta.

Camping en Français weekend - Various locations in Alberta

This family weekend takes place every year during the summer.

Where families get together and camp (bring your own tent, trailer, camper etc.). The location will vary from year to year.
