Bilingual Awareness Campaign-French Language Resource Centre
The French Language Resource Centre (FLRC) promotes and encourages bilingualism within Grand Prairie. They have over 8,000 resources to enhance French learning in Grand Prairie. Through the Grande Prairie Public Library and the Peace Library System, the FLRC lends these resources (books, movies, games, audiobooks etc.) to teachers, educators and parents across seven (7) school boards and in numerous communities through Alberta’s Peace Country. These resources are necessary for residents who want to maintain and connect with the French language and cultural roots. The resources also support students and community members with their preparation for both the DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française). These diplomas recognize ones academic, university and/or professional achievements in the acquisition, maintenance and understanding of the French language.
The FLRC also houses services to promote French culture. They offer travel bursaries and access to and support of exchanges which provide individuals the opportunity to be immersed in the French culture and language. The FLRC supports the French Community in Northwest Alberta — giving it the tools they need to grow.
We invite you to check out the French resources at the Grand Prairie Public Library! Thanks to their partnership with French Language Resource Centre (FLRC), they house over 8,000 French materials items—such as games, books, movies, audiobooks, educational resources and more.
Let’s express our community support for maintenance and accessibility of the many valuable French resources housed in the Grand Prairie Public Library.
Thanks to the French Language Resource Centre (FLRC) and its resources, French immersion, French second-language and Francophone classrooms have access to a variety of fun and interactive French games, books and other resources. Check these resources at the Grand Prairie Public Library.
