Marie-Astrid Detharet was awarded the Fl/FSl Leader of the Year Award this past week. This prestigious recognition was recently developed by Canadian Parents for French Alberta and the Alberta French Language Education Consortium.
Marie-Astrid Detharet is a Lead for the French Immersion Professional Learning Community at Chinook’s Edge School Division. Her role brings French immersion teachers together three times a year to learn from each other. Marie-Astrid helps develop creative ideas for teachers in the district and dedicates her time to provide enrichment opportunities for the success of the programs, teachers and students — she leads with her heart.
“I could not think of anyone more suited for recognition for their commitment to promoting and supporting French Immersion programming within a division. Her passion for the language and culture is evident in all that she does. She looks for Francophone representation opportunities within all aspects of her professional work…Marie-Astrid is an exemplary ambassador for French Immersion programming. CESD is most fortunate to have her.” Said Erin Machell regarding Marie-Astrid’s nomination for the award.
Canadian Parents for French Alberta and the Alberta French Language Education Consortium are proud to give present this award to Marie-Astrid Detharet; she leads by example.
