Canadian Parents for French Alberta is launching an online tutoring platform this fall that any member family can sign up for. We’ll be matching vetted and talented French language experts with learners. Stay tuned to learn how to sign up!
Interested in becoming a French tutor?
Canadian Parents for French Alberta Branch is looking for volunteer tutors who can commit to 1-3 hours per week of online bilingual tutoring (French and English) for the fall semester (September-December). The program offers children 1 hour a week of one-on-one time with our volunteer tutors for French language homework support, reading, or French speaking practice.
Many of the children are new to French learning so sessions will be conducted in both languages. Tutors and students must have internet access, a webcam and a microphone. There is a brief application form, a required 30-minute interview, and tutors will need to sign a confidentiality policy.
CPF will offer ongoing training and support. Tutors can choose the time slots that best meet their own schedule, and we are happy to provide certificates of volunteer hours completed!
If this sounds appealing to you, or you know someone who would be interested in volunteering, please check out the application form or pass it along! Applicants will be contacted within 14 days of applying to set up an interview.
Information on registering families/children for free tutoring for CPF members will be available later this month.
