You could receive between $1,500 – $3,000 to organize an immersive experience for your students!
CPF is proud to partner with the Fédération culturelle canadienne-française (FCCF) to facilitate applications for the ImmersART micro-grant.
This program allows you to offer a unique artistic, cultural, or heritage experience to your students in French, in collaboration with CPF. The ImmersART program is open to all Canadian junior and senior high schools (grades 6-12) that offer a French immersion program.

This program aims to help you:
- Support your immersion students’ French learning process.
- Expose them to artistic, cultural or heritage experiences in French.
- Help them discover the diversity of French-Canadian cultural expressions.
- Develop their sense of belonging to a plural and inclusive Francophonie.
- Forge bonds with local, regional, and national French cultural organizations.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the micro-grant, the following conditions must be met:
- The activity targets grade levels between grades 6-12.
- Your planned activity is offered fully in French, and is related to one of the following disciplines:
- Heritage, Music, Literature, Drama, New Media, Visual Arts, Dance, Crafting, or Multidisciplinary Arts.
- A school may only apply once per year.
- The activity takes place during the school year, between September and June.
Application Process
- Click HERE to navigate to the ImmersART website.
- Scroll down and click “Add your School” on the left-hand side of the page.
- Enter your school’s information into the form and click “Submit”.
This registers your school with ImmersART and allows us to locate your school and submit your application on your behalf.
Complete this step as soon as possible, as it can take up to 7 business days for your submission to be processed.

When applying, be prepared with the following information:
- School information
- Contact person information
- Outline of your proposed project:
- Specific grade level(s) targeted (must be between grades 6-12)
- Who is performing/leading the activity
- Date of the event.
- Anticipated student attendance
The more information you can provide about your event the better!
CPF will review your application and may send it back for small edits or adjustments.
Once a final application is agreed upon by CPF and the applying-school, CPF will submit the application on your behalf.
- Approvals take 2-5 business days, and the money is dispensed within 10 business days.
- Money will be sent to the partner organization (CPF), who then dispenses the funds to the school.
- CPF will either pay the performer directly, or the school will be required to provide receipts.
Ensure to track the number of students who attended, and report on the success of the activity with regards to student engagement and enjoyment.
The following documentation must be submitted to CPF within 48 hours after the event:
- Photos or vidoes of the event (ensure no students with FOIP restrictions are included)
- Financial summary (including receipts)
- Brief summary of the activity’s success
More information will be provided to successful applicants upon receipt of their grant monies.

Things To Know Before You Apply:
The program authorizes a micro-grant of $1,500 per year and per school to finance one or more activities. Some areas are eligible for a distance premium:
- $1,500 per school/year if your school is in or within 200km of Calgary or Edmonton.
- $1,500 + $500 distance premium, if over 200km from Calgary or Edmonton.
- $1,500 + $1,500 distance premium, if school is in the Northwest Territories.
The activities must take place during the school year, between September and June.
The micro-subsidies are granted to Francophone non-profit artistic or cultural organizations, in this case, CPF Alberta & Northwest Territories.
To take part in the program:
- A school and a non-profit organization plan an activity in French together.
- The non-profit organization submits its financing application through ImmersART’s platform.
- The application is automatically transmitted to the FCCF and the school’s education authority (e.g., school administration or school board).
- The FCCF verifies the application.
- The school’s education authority approves the financing application and the activity.
- The FCCF transfers the funds to the non-profit organization.
- The school participates in the subsidized activity.
After the activity, the non-profit organization publishes a review (photos and a summary posted on social media).
i) A $100.00 administration fee will be applied to your approved funds. This is to cover administrative costs of facilitating the grant and includes a discounted Associate Partner Organization (APO) membership with CPF for a term of 1-year.
ii) You can be reimbursed for any eligible expense that is directly related to the cost of providing the activity:
- Honorarium for the artist in charge of facilitating the activity
- Activity coordination costs incurred by the organization
- Materials required for the activity
- Cost of transportation to take the students to the activity or the artists to the school
iii) Types of expenses that are NOT ELIGIBLE for the ImmersART program include:
- Capital assets
- Regular operations of the organization
- Regular collaboration, networking and strategic planning process
- Needs analysis and study
- Professional training
iv) Please note that if you incur expenses for the activity before receiving confirmation of funding approval in writing, you do so at your own risk. CPF AB & NWT or the ImmersART program cannot be held responsible for such expenses if your application is rejected, for any reason.
