What is Linguistic Duality Day?

The observance of a Linguistic Duality Day was declared by the former Clerk of the Privy Council in 2009. It is marked annually by the Federal Public Service on the second Thursday in September.

On Linguistic Duality Day, we celebrate how French and English, our official languages, build a strong sense of belonging and contribute to a rich, open, and diverse Canadian culture.

For the first time this year, Linguistic Duality Day’s reach will expand with events taking place in communities, schools, and homes across Canada!

Join us live with your classes (Grades 5-12) to hear from 3 talented speakers as they share their journey to bilingualism.

Q & A Opportunity at the end.

* Once you have registered  for our Virtual Linguistic Duality Event we will provide the link to join this session. Link will be provided on September 8th, 2021. This session will be recorded and will be made available for future use, but not shared publicly.
