FUN FRENCH HOUR –Week 1  Registration (July 20 – July 24, 2021)

There are 5 sessions this week, each with a different theme (Baking, Art, Coding, Zumba, and Earth Activity/Yoga class) – book up to five sessions each week!

* Each session is open to any child ages 6-14 and can be enjoyed by both you and your kids.  The cost is $5 per session/family.  Must be a CPF MEMBER!

Your child will need access to a laptop, computer or tablet with a microphone, speakers & webcam connected to reliable internet. All sessions are conducted on the Zoom platform and will take place in Mountain Time Zone (MDT) / Alberta time.

CHEF Á L’ÉCOLE – Pets de Soeurs – Tuesday, July 20, 2021 @ 5:30 pm MDT 

Bake with us…en français!
Chef à l’École is excited to bring you a virtual workshop that encourages spontaneous oral participation for French learners of all abilities!
Bake alongside our chef to create a delicious French inspired treat.
Participants will be able to practice some newly learned French vocabulary out loud and interact directly with the chef.
There will be opportunities to ask and answer questions while learning about French culture, listening to French music and even learning how to play the spoons.

ZUMBA WITH XIMENA – Wednesday, July 21, 2021 @ 5:30 pm MDT 

Zumba Kids is a series of kid-friendly dance routines based on original Zumba® choreography. We break down the steps, add games, cardiovascular exercises, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Includes a few kid-friendly yoga stretches, breathing techniques, visualizations and positive affirmations.

ART CLASS – Sea the Ink? – Thursday, July 22, 2021 @ 5:30 pm MDT

Join Clara, a local French-Canadian artist, living in Edmonton. The workshops and projects she proposes have a focus on the creating art with everyday items. As an artist, she believes everyone can (and should) use their imagination. The projects offered should stimulate everyone’s creativity and help produce fantastic unique pieces. All projects are intended for all age groups and abilities. In short, whether you are a resident Michelangelo or a beginner artist, these projects should be fun!

EARTH ACTIVITY/YOGA CLASS – Animal Fun (*for Ages 6-10) – Saturday, July 24, 2021 @ 10:30 am MDT 

Learn new vocabulary and build on your French speaking skills with grade one French Immersion teacher Mme Trout!

Participate in activities such as making a bird feeder, clay figurines, glittery slime and planting herbs.
You will also get a chance to participate in themed yoga classes each week, such as nature, ocean, statue and animal themed! Please wear comfy clothes for the yoga.

LYNX CODING (*for ages 11-14 ONLY) – Saturday July 24, 2021 @ 10:30 am MDT 

Children, ages 11 to 14, will create an interactive Birthday card that includes sound and animation.
Children will use, in French, a Canadian-designed coding app called Lynx.
Learning to code improves math skills, problem-solving skills and embraces creativity.
