We are excited to share BeAFrenchTeacher.ca ; a new resource developed to encourage and to
support our secondary and University students in a career path as a French teacher. This resource
provides information to pursue becoming a French teacher, advocates for French language
learning and celebrates Francophone culture in our community.
The website has the following highlights:
● It provides a one-stop shop with pages dedicated to proficiency pathways, exchanges,
community engagement, University programs and scholarships.
● The site navigation follows a “journey” theme with an Alberta focus.
● Videos and an accompanying YouTube channel share personal journeys and inspiring messages
for French learners.
● An interactive quiz can help students uncover their inner French teacher.
● The site provides links and messages to encourage continuing in French language programs.
